Hi!
I thought I’d introduce myself, so we can get to know each other a bit better.
I’m Tori.
I’m 45 years old and I live in Adelaide with my 2 amazing children and our beautiful Labradoodle, Daisy.
One thing you might not guess about me is that I haven’t always been healthy.
… But more about that later.
I love Adelaide.
I’ve travelled to some beautiful places in the world, but I’ve lived in Adelaide my whole life – aside from a couple of years living in Melbourne in my 20s.
I’m Artistic.
Growing up, I was musical. I loved to play piano, sing and dance.
As a teenager I taught myself how to play guitar and performed original music around Adelaide.
I still love to play music with friends or at home with my kids.
I’m A Crazy Dog Lady.
I’m an animal lover. I especially LOVE dogs.
My dad would roll his eyes when I would say “It followed me home!”, while my mum would be working out which room the new stray would sleep in…
I’m happiest outdoors.
I love the sun. I love to swim or be in or near the water. I adore hiking and spending time with friends and family (or combining both!).
Another thing about me: vibrant health wasn’t always my ‘norm’.
Like I was saying earlier: some years ago, I didn’t feel as great as I do now.
I struggled with poor health, going from one specialist to another, looking for answers.
Neurological, infertility, autoimmune, mental/emotional, hormonal, inflammation, excess weight, adrenal dysfunction and a long list of other imbalances and debilitating symptoms.
It was difficult for me to find the right kind of help.
No-one seemed to be able to tell me exactly what was wrong, how or why it happened or what I could do about it.
No-one seemed to provide the type of care & support I was looking for.
I felt alone, frustrated and scared.
Overcoming my own health challenges taught me so much.
I was inspired to study Integrative & Holistic Nutrition, Functional Medicine and other aspects of food, lifestyle, toxicity, movement and mind & body medicine.
I felt motivated to turn my health around, step by step, and then teach others how to do the same.
I wanted to change the face of healthcare.
I decided to open a business that would nurture women in the way they most needed it.
With a cup of tea in a beautiful serene space and create time for them to be truly heard.
My deepest desire was to combine excellent healthcare with warmth and compassion.
I wanted to provide struggling women with the support they needed to become the best versions of themselves.
Which is why I created JOIA.
I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a bit better!
